The Coastal Ruins can be unlocked after completing the main quest "Crescent Town Crisis," and the player must reach level 28. Upon first entry, the plot quest "Tidal Mystery" is triggered, and exploration permissions are granted after talking to NPC archaeologist Darren. If the quest does not trigger, check if the Tattered Nautical Chart (obtained with a probability from earlier fishing quests) is in your backpack; this item is necessary to activate the ruins.

The Coastal Ruins mainly consist of beaches, rock formations, and an abandoned temple. Players can catch water and grass type spirits or obtain items by searching points here. The map is scattered with 14 treasure chests, some of which require specific elemental spirits to open, such as the chest near the Mage's House that needs a water skill to activate. There is also a one-time secret realm challenge within the ruins, offering rare resources like Sleepy Owl Stars and King Ball Fragments upon completion.

Sleepy Owl Stars are the key collectibles in the Coastal Ruins, totaling four. The first one is at the highest point of the rock formation, requiring you to climb to the top to trigger the mechanism. The second one is hidden behind the left stone pillar at the entrance of the temple, needing a fire skill to melt the ice layer. The third one is atop the giant wreckage in the southeastern sea, accessible by gliding or flying mount. The fourth requires solving the mural puzzle in the temple in the order of "Starlight → Moon Pattern → Tide," unlocking a hidden title upon completion. It's recommended to prioritize collecting the two water element chests in the temple area, which need to be unlocked after completing the main quest.

When catching spirits inside the ruins, be cautious while running through the area, as falling is possible and mounts cannot be used. Spirits like Dazed Frog (caught by fishing in shallow waters) and Griffin (respawns in the beach area) can be captured, and it's recommended to bring Royal Griffin to improve efficiency. In battles, pay attention to the mage enemies in the main quest "Little Meow Good, Little Man Bad," where the third mage will summon clones, and you should focus on attacking the main body first. For chest guardians, high-damage pets like Fire God can be used to defeat them quickly.
