Each version of Echoes of the War will release at least 1-2 characters, but if you're not incredibly lucky or willing to spend a lot, it can be quite challenging to get every character from each banner, let alone multi-chain characters. Some players are wondering about the 2.3 banner planning, whether this 2.3 version banner is worth pulling. Below is a simple analysis, of course, this is just a suggestion, not a requirement, and when you actually play, you can do as you wish.

The new characters in the 2.3 banner are Zani and Xia Kong, with Zani being the main DPS for Diffraction, and Xia Kong serving as a support for Wind Erosion and Light Noise anomalies. Before the 2.3 banner, there will be a rerun of the Guardian's banner, and after the 2.3 banner, it's highly likely that Katiya will be next. It has to be said, this arrangement is really well thought out.

For newcomers, if your account doesn't have the Guardian but does have Chun, and you have very limited resources left for gacha, it's still recommended to go for the Guardian in the second half of 2.2, even just 0 chains, and you could even consider not pulling for weapons. The Guardian provides both damage boosts and healing, making them stand out uniquely.

If you don't end up with the Guardian, you might also consider saving some resources to pull for Xia Kong, while Zani can be considered less essential, since the version following 2.3 is likely the anniversary celebration. From all indications so far, Katiya will enter the banner, potentially similar to Jin Xi, a "wheelchair" type big C, with high strength, and considering she's a wind attribute, she may pair well with Xia Kong.

Zani, although her character design is indeed very appealing, from the perspective of strength and team necessity, she is not a must-have. She can replace the main Light character in a Light Noise team, paired with Phebe, and if you don't have Phebe, it's even less worth it to pull for her.

For veteran players, if you don't have Phebe, it's not recommended to pull for Zani; if you do, you can aim for Zani 0+1, and if resources are insufficient later, give up on Xia Kong, and first see how Katiya performs, striving to secure Katiya.
