Hero Adventure Group Mage Guide: How to Play the Mage

This guide brings you the strategy for the mage in the Hero Adventure Group. The mage is a powerful damage-dealing class, proficient in two completely different types of magic: fire and frost, capable of dealing considerable area damage to enemies. Many beginners, after choosing the mage, are unsure about how to match suitable skills and talents, and are also unclear about play techniques. This mage guide aims to solve these problems for beginners.

In terms of base attributes, prioritize stamina when playing as a mage, followed by armor and intelligence. For secondary attributes, prioritize critical strike > versatility > haste > hit. Before level 30, choosing between ice or fire has similar effects, but considering that ice mages gain the powerful area attack Blizzard after level 30, it's more recommended to choose ice.

In actual combat, the skill order and rotation can be as shown in the figure below. Depending on your mana situation, you can add Frost Armor to this rotation. This move gives you an ice shield, helping absorb some magical damage, thereby reducing food consumption. Of course, for maximum output, you may choose not to use it.

The mage's skills are also influenced by weapons, so try to choose the best-levelled two-handed staff. In practice, triggering Frost Spike combo, high-damage Ice Lance, and instant Pyroblast are all very good. When grinding, just set them to auto-release as shown in the image above. When fighting a single boss and needing single-target damage, place these skills at the beginning of your rotation.

Additionally, Frost Nova is a very strong control move, providing area damage while freezing monsters and reducing damage taken. It can be adjusted accordingly when fighting bosses. For talent point distribution for ice mages, follow the diagram below, prioritizing the ones within the red box.
