B Tier Weapons
Sword and Shield: B Tier. In this update, the Sword and Shield has removed the useless third kick, making each strike have excellent displacement effects, allowing the short-range Sword and Shield to flexibly adjust its position and quickly approach monsters for precise strikes. Additionally, the newly added charged downward thrust attack not only deals high damage but also has a strong visual impact. Overall, the Sword and Shield excels in elemental attacks and is expected to become a top choice among elemental weapons. However, due to relatively limited action changes, the overall combat experience, although improved, did not achieve a qualitative leap, thus placing it in the B tier.

Dual Blades: B Tier. Dual Blades have been significantly enhanced in this update, especially in the Demon Mode, which allows for continuous flurry attacks, greatly increasing melee damage. At the same time, the blue light effect after Demon Dodge enhances elemental damage, making Dual Blades stand out in the field of elemental damage. However, the speed boost in Demon Mode has been removed, and the attack speed of the flurry has also decreased, resulting in no significant improvement in the satisfaction of using Dual Blades, thus placing them in the B tier as well.

Heavy Bowgun: B Tier. The Heavy Bowgun remains powerful, with the new Dragoon Mode bringing some improvements in mobility, but the overall combat rhythm has not changed much. Meanwhile, the defensive and grappling skills of the Heavy Bowgun are still practical, allowing for ease when facing large monsters. However, despite its solid strength, it performs mediocrely in terms of comfort. This is mainly because the combat experience of the Heavy Bowgun is relatively monotonous, lacking sufficient innovation and surprises.

Light Bowgun: B Tier. As a ranged weapon, the Light Bowgun's natural advantage lies in its long-range striking capability. Although it has gained a few new types of ammunition and increased damage, the overall combat experience has not changed much. The new conversion mode, while increasing shooting damage, does not bring enough excitement. Therefore, the Light Bowgun is also placed in the B tier.

Lance: B Tier. The Lance has added a three-hit combo and a powerful defensive counter in this update, making its combat experience more fluid and satisfying. At the same time, the core principles of the Lance—steady defense and precise thrusting attacks—have been perfectly preserved and enhanced. These changes make the Lance a simple yet powerful weapon, but Capcom really isn't very friendly to any melee weapons except the main promoted ones like the Great Sword, Long Sword, and Hammer.
Insect Glaive: B Tier. Many moves have been removed in this update, although it can now summon two insects, it’s not very interesting. Previously, you could enhance attack actions just by keeping the red light on, but now you need three lights, and one light is just for charging. The enhanced rush attack is indeed good, but it cannot be quickly charged, and the attack rhythm is off, with general combos only alternating between horn and circle.

A Tier Weapons
Hammer: A Tier. The Hammer has added a new charge move and a full-body charge attack in this update, making its impact stronger and more practical. Additionally, the uppercut counterattack further enhances the Hammer's combat capabilities. These changes make the Hammer a versatile weapon that can handle various monsters while enjoying the thrill of striking, placing it in the A tier, or even AA tier.

Hunting Horn: A Tier. The Hunting Horn has been significantly enhanced in this update, especially with the introduction of note storage and resonance skills, refreshing its combat experience. Additionally, the new combo moves add extra storage slots and counterattack capabilities. These changes make the Hunting Horn a versatile weapon that can both support teammates and fight independently, firmly placing it in the A tier.

Bow: A Tier. The Bow has been comprehensively enhanced in this update, especially with the introduction of guiding keys and concentrated mode, greatly improving its shooting accuracy and damage output. Additionally, the GP setting and residual arrow detonation effect add extra survival and burst damage. These changes make the Bow a versatile weapon capable of both long-range and close-range combat, but in actual experience, it feels awkward, repeatedly renewing buffs disrupts the rhythm.

S Tier Weapons
Long Sword: S Tier. The Long Sword stands out in this update with its stylish appearance and powerful combat capabilities, becoming a highly anticipated weapon. The new saber thrust and combo moves greatly enhance the Long Sword's impact and fluidity. Additionally, the Long Sword's attacks in concentrated mode are not only powerful but also have super armor, making it easy to handle various challenges. These changes make the Long Sword a stylish and practical weapon, firmly placing it at the top of the S tier.

Gunlance: S Tier. The Gunlance stands out in this update with its exaggerated action changes and powerful damage output, becoming a weapon that can rival the Bow and Long Sword. The new Dragon Walk full-bullet fire and moving sweep slash greatly enhance the Gunlance's flexibility and impact. Additionally, the Gunlance has a defensive judgment during reloading, making it easy to handle sudden situations. These changes make the Gunlance a versatile weapon capable of both long-range shooting and close-range combat, firmly placing it in the S tier.

Great Sword: S Tier. The Great Sword has added a new combo counterattack and a 180-degree turning charge slash in concentrated mode, greatly enhancing its combat flexibility and precision. These changes make the Great Sword capable of easily handling various monsters and enjoying the thrill of one-shot kills. However, due to the introduction of concentrated mode, the difficulty of mastering the Great Sword has decreased, making it easier to master. Its powerful impact and smooth combat experience have been epically enhanced in this game, making it a blessing for Great Sword enthusiasts.

If there were any lower, they would be the following two.
Charge Blade: C Tier. The Charge Blade has undergone significant changes in this update, especially in the red shield state with the adjustment of rapid presses and the super discharge. These changes make the Charge Blade's combat experience quite different, requiring some adaptation time for veteran players. Additionally, the Charge Blade's performance in multiplayer has been affected. Therefore, in the comfort ranking, the Charge Blade can only be placed in the C tier.

Switch Axe: C Tier (or lower). The Switch Axe's performance in this update is not satisfactory. Despite its cool appearance and ability to transform, it struggles in actual combat. The new moves are limited and lack practicality, placing the Switch Axe at the bottom of the comfort ranking. Therefore, for players seeking fluidity and enjoyment, the Switch Axe may not be an ideal choice.
To summarize, we have covered all 14 weapons in Monster Hunter Wild, and each weapon has its unique charm and value, though some may be less desirable. In the pursuit of strength and comfort, we should try different weapon types to discover more suitable combat styles and enjoy the fun. We also look forward to seeing more balance adjustments and new content in future updates!
