In Distant Tides, when doing this mission, we first need to progress the story to this point. After entering the part about saving the puppy, you'll see a skinny puppy jumping back and forth on the shallows. At this moment, the game interface will present two options: go ashore or continue sailing.

When making your choice, do not choose to continue sailing, but instead, choose to go ashore. This way, you can walk to the shallows and feed the puppy fish. As the puppy is eating, slowly approach and pet it, so you can bring the puppy onto the boat.

After picking up the puppy and returning to the boat, you need to sail towards the old fortress. The main reason for going to the old fortress is to interact with the researcher.

Once you find the researcher, during the interaction, five different options will be triggered. These options are:
