In this issue, we bring you a guide for Ancient Souls. In this game, you will play as an inheritor, gaining power through soul cores and other means to defeat various gods. Many newcomers are immediately attracted by the exquisite graphics and smooth action combat upon entering, but they also often feel lost and unsure of what to do. If you have such concerns, follow the guide below to understand the correct way to start playing.

I. Faction System

Newcomers need to choose their faction right after entering the game. The options are the red Chaos faction, the yellow Destiny faction, and the green Abyss faction. Different choices will affect subsequent gameplay elements like sacrifice and redemption. After each level victory, corresponding bonuses will be granted. For example, if you join the red faction, choosing sacrifice in battles will grant bonuses, while choosing redemption will reduce rewards by 50%.

II. Basic Combat Explanation

Understanding the combat mechanics is crucial. The red bar represents health; when it drops to 0, the battle fails. The green bar represents stamina, which is consumed by all actions except normal attacks but recovers automatically while standing or moving. The yellow bar represents the ultimate gauge, which fills up with continuous attacks and can release a powerful skill once full. Each character has damage attributes: physical, ice, electric, poison, and fire. Each attribute has corresponding damage bonuses and reductions. When a character receives attribute damage, it accumulates in the resistance gauge, triggering abnormal states when full. Ice causes freezing, fire causes explosions, poison deals continuous damage, and electricity generates thunderbolts dealing percentage-based damage.

In combat, there are two ways to attack monsters. Attacks marked with blue light can interrupt monster attacks, while those marked with red light are regular attacks. Dodging when monsters attack can avoid damage. Soul cores are helpful in battle; equipping them enhances skill effects, such as health recovery and cooldown reduction.

III. Initial Level Tutorial

In the top-left corner of the initial combat level, you'll see an exploration indicator representing the total explorable areas. Check this if you're unsure whether you've collected everything. During exploration, you may trigger the Dice of Fortune, which doubles treasure rewards based on the dice roll. If unsatisfied with the roll, you can refresh using exploration points. The first boss in the initial level has two forms; beginners cannot defeat its second phase and will trigger a storyline leading to the main city upon death.

IV. Assistance and Tomb of Corruption

In battle scenes, you'll occasionally find blue assistance horns that summon powerful allies to help fight monsters. Use these for easier combat. Conversely, red tombstones contain powerful enemy heroes; avoid summoning them unless confident in your combat ability, as they will attack you.

V. Small Monster Tactics

Early small monsters come in three forms: dogs, knights, and chest monsters. Chest monsters are weak and can be easily defeated with heavy weapons. Knights and dogs are more numerous and challenging due to their blue flashes. Lure them together and use interrupt attacks during their blue flashes to disrupt their rhythm and finish them off.
